I started out as a child…..Ok, let’s be serious for a
minute…
I was born into the home of a professional photographer. It
seemed that the best moments of my life were spent with my dad, while he printed
black & white or developed color film in the dark. He taught me more than
photography – he taught me the love of a job done right.
Many years and many careers later, I’m back doing what I
was raised with and, now that I look back on it, what I always had an aptitude
for, and that is photography. It only took me 30 years to figure out what I
wanted to be when I grew up. Now to get to the growing up part…
The positions I’ve held range from Laboratory Technician to
Electronics Test Technician to Repair Shop Business owner to IT Services at
Cornell University, but no matter what I did, the affinity for all things
photographic insistently surfaced.
So since 1999, I’ve run my photography business “The Payne
Family Photographers, Inc.”, photographing Weddings and events, taking portraits
and landscapes, and generally having a wonderful time.
In 2001, I met Jack LoPinto, who had the idea of
photographing Virtual Tours for local travel and tourism and real estate
organizations. Jack had a vision, and I was quickly enthused, but technical
concerns held us up. Both Jack and myself are perfectionists, and doing a job we
aren’t proud of is just not an option. We had the skill and the will, but the
technology had to catch up.
December 2004, Jack discovered Real Tour Vision, which put
the technology, the Modus Operandi and the dream in sync. Since January 2005, we
have been building the Virtual our business as Ithaca Virtual Tours and US
Virtual Tours, providing an excellent marketing tool to every one of our
clients
Yes, I still do
Weddings and Portraits.
